Chupacho-Panatahua flag at the Arco Punko battle (1812)

image by António Martins, 07 Jan 2005
On a page about the regional symbols of Huánuco it is said (my translation):
The first local flag was red and fuchsia (vertical bicolor) and used in the Arco Punko battle in 1812 Mar 15-18. These colors stood for the two peoples who fought against the Spanish rule, the Chupachos and the Panatahuas. This flag fell in disuse and oblivion.
