Kożuchów - urban-rural commune, Nowa Sól County, Lubuskie Voivodship - former German name: Freystadt in Schlesien.
Arms and flag adopted on July 30, 1990 (resolution # IV/14/90).
"Arms: on a light-blue shield there are white defensive walls with a open gate topped with a slanted grey roof, above which is a church spire, also white, covered with a peaked grey roof and topped by a golden cross. On both sides of the spire are two watchtowers (white) on which are two messengers (heralds - herolds, in Polish) in grey clothes and blowing golden horns.
The (stylized) walls and the church were built originally in the 13th Century and the heralds appeared on the seals of the Silesian Princes (Boleslaw II Rogatka among others) at roughly the same time.
Flag:a rectangular piece of cloth with three equal horizontal bands: upper - blue, middle - white, bottom - blue "
