Miedźna rural district flag
Miedźna - rural commune, Pszczyna County, Śląskie Voivodship - German name: Miedźna.
It could be confused with Miedźna in Masovia or with Miedźnoin Silesia, but it shouldn't...
Gmina Miedźna is a rural gmina (commune) in Pszczyna County, Silesian Voivodship, in southern Poland. Its seat is the village of Miedźna.
Area: 49.91 sq.km (19.3 sq.mi); Population: 15,461 (2006).
An industrial-agricultural commune.
Site of the coal mine PIAST RUCH II
land under cultivation - 65%; forests - 19%.
The main object of tourist interest is the wooden Saint Clement the Pope church from the XVII Century.
Arms and flag adopted on April 13, 2004 (resolution # XIX/148/2004).
"Arms: on the blue shield a golden miner's lamp and a sickle with silver blade and golden handle.
The lamp and the sickle reflect the industrial-agricultural character of the commune.
Flag: rectangle in the ratio of 5:8 composed of three uneven vertical bands in proportions of 1:3:1 and in colors of yellow-blue-white.
On the wide, blue band, the Arms are placed in the center."
