Gnojno commune flag

Gnojno - rural commune, Busko-Zdrój County, Świętokrzyskie Voivodship - The name is not appetizing at all - it means "manure".
Gmina Gnojno is a rural gmina (commune) in Busko County, Świętokrzyskie Voivodship, in south-central Poland. Its seat is the village of Gnojno, which lies approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi) north-east of Busko-Zdrój and 35 km (22 mi) south-east of the regional capital Kielce.
Area: 95.66 sq.km (36.9 sq.mi); Population: 4,735 (2006).
A typical agricultural commune; land under cultivation - 77%; forests - 15%.

In 1241 the Battle of Chmielnik with the invading Tatars took place here.
Possibly, the chemical weapons were used in it first time in Europe - - in the form of burning horse hoofs - obnoxious odors.

Arms and flag adopted on December 14, 2007 (resolution # XV/69/07).
