Pogorzela - urban-rural commune, Gostyń County, Wielkopolskie Voivodship.
Gmina Pogorzela is an urban-rural gmina (commune) in Gostyń County, Greater Poland Voivodship, in west-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Pogorzela, which lies approximately 17 kilometres (11 mi) south-east of Gostyń and 68 km (42 mi) south of the regional capital Poznań.
Area: 96.47 sq.km (37.2 sq.mi); Population: 5,157 (2006).
First mentioned in early XV Century. In XVI Century was, for a while, a center of Lutheranism.
Arms adopted on November 30, 2001 (resolution # XXXII/169/2001).
"Arms: on a red shield a golden lion walking behind a silver (white) tower with black gate and windows."
Flag is not mentioned ( not even the law - "Statut" - is made available) but there is ample photographic evidence confirming the flag's existence.
First photo shows it flown in front of the town office and the second as being presented to the sister city Leudal (the Netherlands) in 2008.
