Rokietnica - rural commune, Poznań County, Wielkopolskie Voivodship - common nickname: "Rokoko".
Gmina Rokietnica is a rural gmina (commune) in Poznań County, Greater Poland Voivodship, in west-central Poland. Its seat is the village of Rokietnica, which lies approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi) north-west of the regional capital Poznań.
Area: 79.31 sq.km (30.6 sq.mi); Population: 9,415 (2006).
Rokietnica first appeared in documents in 1253. Nothing much happened there except usual wars and more wars, atrocities aplenty. Germans marching this way, Russians marching that way, even the Swedes and the French marching occasionally too. Only the Tatars somehow stayed away, maybe it was too cold for them.
Arms and flag adopted on April 19, 2002 (resolution # XLII/480/2002).
"Arms: shield divided vertically into two halves: on the right, golden field a green willow tree. On the left, green field a kerchief tied in the shape of ring (white) and above it a golden crown (representing nobility).
Flag: rectangular piece of cloth in the ratio of 5:8 divided into two equal, vertical fields in the colors of green and yellow. Arms are placed centrally on the flag."
