Śmigiel flag
Śmigiel - urban-rural commune, Kościan County, Wielkopolskie Voivodship.
Gmina Śmigiel is an urban-rural gmina (commune) in Kościan County, Greater Poland Voivodship, in west-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Śmigiel, which lies approximately 13 kilometres (8 mi) south-west of Kościan and 52 km (32 mi) south-west of the regional capital Poznań.
Area: 189.89 sq.km (73.3 sq.mi); Population: 17,465 (2006).
Town of Śmigiel received the city rights in 1415. It is a service center for the region known for growing vegetables and fruits (strawberries, tomatoes). Light food processing and furniture industry.
Arms and flag adopted on February 27, 2003 (resolution # V/42/2003).
"Arms: on a red shield a silver tower with closed golden gate and on the green hill.
Roof of the tower and windows are blue. On both sides of the tower young oak trees, green, with the golden acorns.
Flag: red (at the hoist) and white (in the fly) with the Arms in the middle."
