Description of the flag
The image above represents a design that was proposed by J.A.E.S. as a conciliation flag (J.A.E.S. are the first letters of someone’s name.).
Jorge Candeias, 14 Aug 1997
The suggestion by Carvalho Neves was very similar to the project by J.A.E.S., except that in the fisrt the two blue and white fields are of equal sizes and the portuguese shield is smaller and of more conventional shape.
