Description of the flag

White flag divided by two connected horizontal stripes green over red. Over all is a yellow disc (or globe) with a white equator bearing the black inscription: "ORDEM E LIBERDADE" (order and liberty), order probably referring to Positivism. The globe is topped by a rising, radiant yellow sun.
