Argent field, a cross pommy Gules, in chief a goshawk Sable, lined Argent a carrying on its claw a quina. Mural crown Argent with five visible towers (city rank) and white scroll with upper case black letters "MUNICÍPIO DE LAGOA". The image above displays the old version with four visibale towers (town rank).

Presentation of Lagoa
Lagoa Municipality is subdivided into five communes covering 45,57 km² and had 14 416 habitantes in 2011. It gained the rank of a city on 22 March 2012. It is part of the Açores.
