Shield Azure issuant from flanches and from base wavy Argent, charged with a barrulet wavy Azure, a hump bridge Or masoned Sable, in chief a 5-point estoile Argent. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "VILA COVA À COELHEIRA - SEIA".
Meaning:
The star on the coat of arms has the same meaning as so many other civic arms in this area — canting for the Star Range (Portuguese: Serra da Estrela). The bridge, markedly assymmetric, is a representation of a local landmark, erroneously named the Roman Bridge (and so blazoned), but built in 1602 here
