It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of green and yellow.

Coat of arms
Shield Gules, an olive tree eradicated proper flanked by two millstones Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "ASSENTIS".
Meaning:
Since times immemorial Assentis has had the most oil presses and the largest production of olive oil of the municipality. Both charges are alluding to this fact.

Assentiz Commune is one of the ten communes of the Torres Novas municipality (q.v.); it had 2921 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 32.8 km².
