Meaning:
The word "barreiro" (plural: "barreiros ") means "clay pit" - this meaning doesn´t seem to be included on the arms, which is heavy on the Animal and Vegetable Kingdoms, but shy on the Mineral. The raven is an attribute of St. Vincent, the local patron saint.
