Santo Amaro Commune
Flag
It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field of yet unknown colour.
Facebook shows the conference hall of the local council, where only the flags of Portugal, of Europe, of the Azores and of the municipality are hoisted. Thus the commune at least doesn´t use a proper flag.

Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with black inscription "SANTO AMARO - VELAS".
Meaning:
The base wavy is a representation of the Atlantic Ocean. The plough is symbolising agriculture. The palm frond is the default attribute of Christian martyrs, here representing St. Amarus the Pilgrim, the local patron saint.
