Coat of arms
[.gif)](../images/p/pt-vnhsa-sb%29.gif)image by Sérgio Horta, 19 Dec 2016
The shield of the arms is Vert, three chestnut trees Argent fruited Or, ordered 2:1, in chief a purse Or tied Sable. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "SOBREIRÓ DE BAIXO".
Meaning:
"Sobreiró", means "cork oak", which makes the arms weirdly not canting.

Coat of arms

The shield of the arms is Vert ,a Paschal Lamb couchant Argent, nimbed Or , in chief a twig of olive Argent fruited Sable between two grape bunches Or leaved Argent, and in base two wheat ears Or tied Azure with their stems per saltire. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll (Bénard Guedes style) reading in black upper case letters "ALVAREDOS - VINHAIS".
However, the already mentioned 35 communal flags shown on the tile panel gallery on the outer terrace wall by the Vinhais Earldom Manor / Municipal Culture Center include, as 2nd from the left, a variant version of the flag, where these grapes appear Purpure (see right image above), not Or (which two tintcures are by far the most usual in Portuguese heraldry to colour grapes): I don't know if this is caused by an error or if it goes against the law intentionally.
Meaning:
The Paschal Lamb is an attribute of St. John the Baptist, the local patron saint.
