Valdreu Commune

Flag

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of green and white.

Shield Argent two grape bunches Purple leafed Vert arrayed in fess, in chief an orb Gules issuant from base wavy Argent, charged with a barrulet wavy Azure, a mound of two coupeaux Vert (see left image at top). Sometimes the base is displayed as barruly wavy of six of Argent and Azure (see right image at top) Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "VALDREU".
Meaning:
The orb is an attribute of jesus Christ, being the local patron saint as The Divine Saviour.

Presentation of Valdreu

Valdreu is one of the 21 communes of Vila Verde Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes. It had 434 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 16,69 km².
