Presentation
Lingua Franca Nova is a constructed language based on romance vocabulary and creole grammar. It is the creation of George Boeree, co-developed by several people who regularly write in LFN in over the net.

Lingua Franca Nova is a constructed language with roughly 200 speakers.
Lingua Franca Nova (abbreviated LFN) is an auxiliary constructed language created by Dr. C. George Boeree of Shippensburg University, Pennsylvania. Its vocabulary is based on French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Catalan. The grammar is highly reduced and similar to the Romance creoles. The language is phonetically spelled, using 21 letters of either the Latin or Cyrillic alphabets.

About the language, all romance-based Euroclones look the same. Grammar is, however, much more creole-like in LFN than in Interlingua. Language design goals are also different.

About the flag
The author of the flag is Stefan Fisahn.

They (we?) have recently decided for a flag design, here’s the message that presented the flag in both LFN and English:
On the page you can also have a look to a new symbol / flag for LFN. Something about the idea behind:
- The symbol use rainbow colors (this colors are also used by the peace movement).
- The shape comes from the flag of the Seychelles. The Seychelles use creole as official language.
- The shape looks like a sunrise.
- And the five colors could represent the five continents. Perhaps we should start a poll, wether we adopt the symbol as official for LFN?
The flag/symbol is displayed at the official website. As far as I know, no actual flag has been made or flown, but I might be wrong.

The proportions of the flag are 2 by 1. There are five colored rays, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red, meeting at the lower left and opening from bottom to top and left to right. At the top, the blue takes up 2/5, the green 2/5, and the yellow 1/5 of the length, in that order. At the right, the yellow takes up 1/5, the orange 2/5, and the red 2/5 of the height, in that order. The design was inspired by the flag of the Seychelle Islands (where a French Creole is spoken), combined with the rainbow flagsoften used to signify peace and brotherhood. The image it intends is of the sunrise.
