The Flag

Swedish municipalities which have heraldic arms (which almost all of them have) also by default have a flag which is a square banner of those arms.
The arms of Nykvarn weres adopted when the municipality was founded in 1999 (previously it was part of Södertälje). Nykvarn means �Newmill�. The charges are an insect which in Swedish is called �gul forsslända� and a mill wheel. This insect lives in the lake Yngern in the municipality and only survives when the water is clean.
