Veľké Kosihy (Hungarian: Nagykeszi) is a village in the Komárno okreš of the Nitrianský kraj near Komárno city (23 km west) in the Zitný Ostrov - Csallóköz Island. Veľké Kosihy derives its name from the name of one of the Hungarian Tribes (Keszi). The settlers of the village are Hungarians. The village was in the Csallóközi district (no Slovakian name) of Komárom (in Slovakian Komárno) County of the Kingdom of Hungary to 1919/1920 (Czechoslovakian occupation / Treaty of Trianon). 1920-1938 part of Czechoslovakia, 1938-1944 part of Hungary (after the Decision of Vienna). The Treaty of Paris (1947) reallocated it to Czechoslovakia. The village is member of the "Meetings of the Keszi villages".
