MCBÜ (website) was established in 1992 as Celal Bayar University (CBÜ), to be renamed in 2016 as Manisa Celal Bayar University.
MCBÜ is named for Celal Bayar (1883-1986), 3rd Prime Minister (1937-1939) and 3rd President of the Republic of Turkey (1950-1960). Overthrown on 30 May 1960 by the military coup, he was sentenced to death but the sentence was commuted to life imprisonment; Bayar was released in 1964 and pardoned two years later.
MCBÜ is composed of 14 Faculties, 3 Schools, 15 Vocational Schools and 3 Institutes.
The flag of MCBÜ (photo,photo,photo) is white with the university's emblem. The flag of CBÜ (photo,photo,photo,photo), before the name change, was similar, with appropriate wording in the emblem.

Manisaspor (Manisa Spor Kulübü) was established in 1931 as Sakaryaspor and adopted its current name in 1965.
The club played in the Super League between 2005 and 2008 and between 2009 and 2012.

Manisa BB (Manisa Büyükşehir Belediye Spor Kulübü) was established in 1994.
The flag of Manisa BB (photo, photo, photo,photo, photo, photo, photo,photo, photo,photo, photo, photo,photo, photo) is white with the club's emblem . The central part of the emblem is similar to the municipal emblem of Manisa, green instead of blue and with appropriate writing.
