From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"Gules; or circle with argent bordure, putted on argent barrulet, with the argent cross above the bordure. In the circle centre are two argent swords in saltire.
The circle symbolises the sun, field and a barrow with a cross above.

The Village

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"Near village are nine hills and four sites of ancient settlement of Kyiv Rus' period. One of hills now has name Batyeva mountain. According to a legend, in 1240 ancestors of modern inhabitans have given battle to Tatar-Mongols who were headed by khan Batyj. Victims in this fight were buried in seven tombs-barrows. In honour of this event village carries the name of Kolonshchina, fist name was Kolijshchyna.
