The Flag

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"It was confirmed in September, 25th, 2000 by the decision # XXIII21-251 of XXI city council session of XXIII convocation. Rectangular panel with a ratio of width to the length as 2:3 consists of two horizontal equal strips - top yellow and bottom green, in the top corner from a staff is a black square on which are crossed yellow hammer and two coal hammers. The author is V.Kryvyi.
The black square, hammer and coal hammers symbolize the coal-mining industry. Green color means hope, pleasure, well-being, and also green fields on which is the city.
