Volo, Illinois (U.S.) (original) (raw)

The flag for the village of Volo, Illinois, consists of the logo on a white field.

The logo consists of almost solely of lettering, everything in varying styles and weights of the typeface Georgia, with the word "VOLO" in very large bold capitals, the eye of the 2nd "o" shaped as the outline of the State of Illinois with the location of Volo marked with a five-pointed, upright small star. Surrounding this main text, more text: Not bold and much smaller, above and flushed to the left, the words "Village of", and at the bottom, not bold and in italics, also smaller and flushed to the right, the phrase "A Family Community".

This latter text and the star are colored light taupe (a.k.a. beaver brown, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shades_of_brown#Beaver) maybe meant to be percieved as either silvery or golden, while the rest of the text, the main color of the logo, is shown as burgundy on the logo image but looking more like red (specifically, dark red) on the flag photo.
