Northampton County, North Carolina (U.S.) (original) (raw)

Known Flag - indicates flag is known.
No Known Flag - indicates it is reported that there is no known flag.

According tohttps://www.facebook.com/photoon their official Facebook, Northampton County has a flag. To quote the Facebook page, the symbolism of the flag is as follows:

"NORTHAMPTON COUNTY FLAG

Green
The green stroke stands for the land and the abundant plant and animal life which grow on the land. The bounty and beauty of the area attracted the first people to this land over 10,000 years ago.

Blue
The blue shape coursing the flag represents the water resources of Northampton. Indians lived on the Roanoke and Meherrin Rivers.

Bright Disc
The bright disc stands for the bright hope of our future and the steadiness and potential of people rooted in heritage."

From what I can see athttps://www.facebook.com/photoand https://www.facebook.com/256260454706063, the county seal that is included in the first link is not included on the flag used by the county.

I cannot confirm when the flag was designed/adopted nor who designed it.

The image came from their Facebook page with some changes to remove the seal and match the available photos.
