Description of the flag
The flag was designed in 1988 during a flag contest, and was designed by Tim Van Vranken. The symbolism according to the town; The blue background representing the still waters of the Hudson River. A canoe with a fleur de lis representing the Native American and French influence in the region. And a rising sun with thirteen rays representing the original 13 colonies.
