Description of the flag
The flag consists of the seal (in white-line) on a bluish-purple field.
Brownsville is a city in, and the seat of Haywood County. It is predominantly African-American with 9,788 residents as of the 2020 census. However, its namesake actually comes from Jacob Jennings Brown, an American General from the War of 1812. Brownsville was the birthplace of late singer Tina Turner and is home to The Mindfield, the largest art sculpture in Tennessee.
