Background

Sedibeng is one of two districts and three metropolitan municipalities within the Gauteng Province of South Africa. Sedibeng is located north of the Vaal River (immediately south ofJohannesburg) and its administrative seat is in Vereeniging, in the Emfuleni Local Municipality. The other local municipalities which form the district are Lesedi and Midvaal.
