Equuleus (abbreviation: Equ), the Little Horse, is an ancient but obscure northern constellation that represents a small horse's head and shoulders. It lies between Pegasus and Delphinus and ranks ahead only of Crux in size. Its only star brighter than magnitude 4 is Kitalpha (Alpha Equ), a binary star (visual magnitude 3.92, absolute magnitude 0.13, spectral type G0III+A5V, distance 186 light-years).
