Miaplacidus (Beta Carinae)

Miaplacidus (Beta Carinae) is the second brightest star in the constellation Carina, a subgiant A star. Its name is of uncertain origin, possibly part Arab, part Latin: the Arabic Mi'ah for "waters" combining with the Latin placidus to give 'placid waters.'
