| | | | | | | Humphreys, Thomas, 28 Jul 1909, aged 41, Collier, Fall of side. At face ; while stooping to pick up a lump of coal, a piece of "clod," 4 feet by 3 feet, by a varied thickness of 10 inches to 5½ inches, fell upon him and killed him. He appears to have struck out a sprag which supported the overhanging clod, so as to allow space to work the coal away. Middle Vein.
