He was born in Bitton, Gloucestershire, and migrated to Northumberland, via South Wales, to work in the coal mines. I would appreciate any information that anyone may have on Enoch Monk or his family who lived in Camperdown, Northumberland. Ernest Hann 12 Sep 2020 Enoch was also my great great grandfather. His daughter, Mary, married my great grandfather, John Hann (born Handy) and together they opened a greengrocers in Burradon around 1905 in what apparently became known as "Hann's Buildings", next door to The Grey Horse pub. Sadly John died shortly afterwards in 1910 but Mary continued to run the store with the help of my Grandfather, John Thomas, and one or more brothers until at least 1936.
