I am researching my ancestry and believe this was my great grandfather. I believe his son emigrated to the United States where in worked in the coal mines in southern Illinois.

My grandmother Ethel Dodds was born in COWPEN in 1889. Her father was George Dodds & Mother Mary Dodds nee Vayro. I know my grandmother came from a long line of coal miners from this area however she emigrated to Australia in 1912 & married a coal miner here.
