September 8. — A lamentable explosion of gas took place at Seghill Colliery early this morning, which caused the immediate death of seven persons, besides endangering the lives of several others. The name of the unfortunate sufferers were Richard Robinson, John Neiland, Henry Whitehead, Thomas Heep, John Mills, George Jackson, and William Taylor. [_LRF_]
