Newspaper Articles Newspaper Articles 8th July 1875 A Boy Crushed To Death In Henry Pit Yesterday (Wednesday) evening a youth named John Daley, 17 years of age, the son of Joseph Daley, an employee at Bransty Station, was killed in Henry Pit. The deceased was employed as an onsetter at the bottom of the shaft, and at about seven o'clock yesterday evening he was standing at the bottom of the shaft when a cage with an empty tub in it came down upon him, and killed him on the spot.
