Club(s) | Played schoolboy football in Grimsby and played with local side Hay Cross FC. Signed for Grimsby Town FC in October 1930. Betmead was to sign for Chelsea FC in September 1939, but war broke out and put the transfer in hold. Sadly, football did not resume for over six years and Harry was past his prime, he did however, turn out as a guest player for Heart of Midlothian FC in 1941. He retired a Grimsby Town player in December 1947,having played 296 league appearances, scoring ten goals. |
