Club(s) Began his early football career with Croxley Green in Hertfordshire. Firstly, with the schoolboy team, and then the junior side. Also appearing with Watford FC amateurs. He joined Fulham FC on amateur forms in the 1948 close season. Turned professional in October 1948. He spent his entire senior career at Fulham, playing 306 league matches, where he scored 154**, only retiring through injury in August 1957.**

Walked away from football after his chairman sold his rising star, Alan Mullery, to rivals, Tottenham Hotspur FC.
