Began playing with West London Schools, London Schools as well as Middlesex Schools before signing with Fulham FC on amateur forms in June 1957, joining the Craven Cottage groundstaff. He turned professional in December 1958. After 199 league appearances and thirteen goals,Mullery signed for Tottenham Hotspur FC for a £72,500 fee in March 1964. 312 league appearances followed and another 25 goals.He rejoined Craven Cottage on loan from March to April 1972. The deal becane permanent in July 1972 at the cost of £65,000, completing another 165 league appearances and scoring another 24 goals**. Mullery retired in May 1976.** |

No sooner had Mullery hung up his boots, he was managing his first club, Brighton & Hove Albion FC from July 1976 until June 1981. Whereupon he took over the reins at Charlton Atheltic FC for the 1981-82 season. Crystal Palace FC was next on his list from June 1982 until May 1984. An unsuccessful period at Queen's Park Rangers FC between June and December 1984. He returned to the south coast with Brighton & Hove Albion from 1986 until his sacking in January 1987. Between August and December 1987, he became part-time manager of Southwick FC of the Isthmian League. In early 1990, he had a spell coaching the Malaysian Armed Forces football team. Became Director of Coaching at Barnet FC in 1996-97. He was also a football consultant at Crawley Town FC in Seotember 2005. |
