CLASSIC KONGSBERG SILVER!
This incredibly sculptural specimen features a gnarled 6 cm growth of Native Silver on Calcite and host rock matrix! I love the way the specimen was trimmed to leave most of the matrix but it could be trimmed further if so desired. With a little bit of addition trimming, this could become even more of a Silver specimen and it would probably increase the value even further. The Silver is beautifully patinaed with an original golden toning over lustrous surfaces. The knarled tree-like wires begin as thick 1.5 cm ropes near the base and twist upwards atop the Calcite matrix. Darker bits of Acanthite are visible here and there amongst the Calcite. A truly spectacular specimen! Locality: Kongsberg Silver Mining District, Svene, Flesberg, Buskerud, Norway. Measures: 7.7 cm by 5 cm by 5.7 cm in total size. Ex. E.C., Brown Mineral Collections Comes with a custom made, labeled display base

**VERY RARE!! Historic specimen featuring Acanthite crystals on Erythrite (Cobalt bloom) covered matrix! Specimens of this combination from Cobalt are so rare that you'd be lucky to see one in a decade. This is the first I've offered in the history of this website (15 years) and I've seen no others, not even during my visit to Cobalt several years ago. Simply put, not many large Acanthite specimens with their original Erythrite coating survive from the Cobalt Mining Disrict. Most were cleaned or had their Erythrite bloom removed and that is a shame because it's such a large part of the region's history. Erythrite, being a Cobalt mineral, is also the reason behind the town's name. This large plate has been preserved since it was mined in the early 1900's and the Acanthite crystals are lustrous, measuring to 1.5 cm in size. They are well scattered atop the red surfaces. This specimen is a rare opportunity to acquire an original specimen from a great Silver mining district. From the O'Brien Mine, Coleman Township, Cobalt area, Cobalt-Gowganda region, Timiskaming District, Ontario, Canada. Measures 12 cm by 13.5 cm by 3.4 cm in total size. Ex. Robert W. Hauck Mineral Collection Comes with a custom made, labeled display base Price $15,000

Gorgeous specimen featuring gem golden Calcite crystals with Quartz var. Amethyst! A wonderful combination piece which displays a cluster of golden Calcites with some of the sharpest, most distinct phantoms I've seen in a long time. A sparkling micro-crystalline coating of Hematite sprays outlines the earlier terminations which are now visible through the gemmy, glassy Calcite exteriors. This cluster sits alongside a gemmy purple cluster of Amethyst crystals which display some of their own internal phantoming. There are also two additional isolated Amethyst crystals atop the Calcites. In excellent condition. From Ametista do Sul, Alto Uruguai region, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Measures 9 cm by 11 cm by 7.2 cm in total size.

Rare specimen of Gypsum with Native Sulfur crystals! Gypsum and Sulfur combos are one of the most difficult specimens to find these days at the shows. They all came out at least a hundred years ago from the mines in Sicily but I have to wonder how many survived the years since because they are so seldomly seen. This one is in excellent condition with thick, transparent crystals of Gypsum surrounded by bright yellow crystals of Native Sulfur. In excellent shape with very little to mention in the way of contacting. Free of the usual scuffs and well trimmed. Locality: Cozzo Disi Mine (Cozzodisi Mine), Casteltermini, Agrigento Province, Sicily, Italy. Measures: 6.6 cm by 7.2 cm by 5.8 cm in size. Ex. Webb Mineral Collection Price $2500

Beautiful specimen of Amethyst crystals among Quartz crystals on matrix! This is a spectacular cabinet piece, displaying gorgeous inclusions of Amethst purple and Smoky brown, all together on the same matrix. You might even say that the largest vertical crystal on the left side displays a mixture of both Amethyst and Smoky coloration within the same interior. This crystals measures just shy of 6 cm in length and like the others, is perfectly terminated with super glassy faces and a gemmy interior. This specimen is pristine to my eyes and I can't find a single negative thing to say about. It's also well trimmed with centered crystals. Very rich specimen of greenish-brown Embolite crystals with Goethite and Cerussite! Chlorargyrite is the mineral known as "Horn Silver". It was once misunderstood by miners until they had it assayed and discovered it was Silver Chloride and very rich. Embolite is a variety of Chlorargyrite which adds some Bromian into the molecular mix and is also known as Bromian Chlorargyrite. This specimen is covered with the waxy-brown crystals which are accented by iridescent (bluish-lavender) Goethite and tiny twinned Cerussites! I haven't seen this combination of minerals from the Broken Hill before and it's very nice. From the Broken Hill Proprietary Mine, Broken Hill, Yancowinna Co., New South Wales, Australia. Circa 1950's - Measures 9.5 cm by 7.4 cm by 5.5 cm in total size.

Fine crystal covered plate of brilliant green Pyromorphite in cluster! This lovely plate of lustrous green Pyromorphite crystals is an exceptional miniature and is about as pristine as you can get. I've examined the specimen under 16x magnification and saw dozens and dozens of glassy, terminated crystals. One thing I didn't see however was broken points and damage. If there are any, they are very small and unnoticeable. The green is apple green with a touch of olive. Locality: Daoping Mine, Gongcheng Co., Guilin Prefecture, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. Measures: 7 cm by 8.5 cm by 4.5 cm in size. Price $3500
