The Archbishop of Westminster is the Roman Catholic primate of England and Wales. His see is Westminster Cathedral. The office was created in 1850, when the Catholic Hierarchy was restored in England. The Diocese of Westminster includes London north of the Thames and east of Newham and Waltham Forest, as well as Hertfordshire.
