Branford is a town located in New Haven County, Connecticut. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 28,683.
Geography

United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 72.5 km² (28.0 mi²). 56.9 km² (22.0 mi²) of it is land and 15.6 km² (6.0 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 21.50% water.

census of 2000, there are 28,683 people, 12,543 households, and 7,663 families residing in the town. The population density is 503.8/km² (1,305.2/mi²).
