Grover (original) (raw)
Grover is Sesame Street's self-described "cute furry, little monster." He is fuzzy and blue, much like other Muppets on the show.
Grover may be named after former US president Grover Cleveland, although this seems unlikely, and is most likely just a rumor. It is more likely that the Muppet Workshop and Sesame Workshop chose this name, as it is out of vogue, and unlikely to unintentionally offend many viewers.
Grover is performed by puppeteer and now film director Frank Oz who also does Bert.
