Kelheim is a district in Bavaria, Germany. It is bounded by (from the north and clockwise) the districts of Regensburg, Landshut, Freising, Pfaffenhofen, Eichst�tt and Neumarkt.

Geography

The district is located half way between Ingolstadt and Regensburg on both banks of the Danube. In the northwestern part it includes a part of the Altm�hl Valley Nature Park and the confluence of Altm�hl and Danube.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms displays:the blue and white checked pattern of Bavariathe roses symbolise the monasteries of Biburg resp. Weltenburgsilver and black are the colours of Abensberg, which once was a free imperial city
