Philip the Bold (le Hardi) (also known as Philippe II de Bourgogne) (15 January1342 - 27 April 1404), duke of Burgundy (1363 - 1404), was the fourth son of King John II of France and his wife, formerly Jutta of Bohemia. From 1380 to 1388 he ruled France as regent for his nephew, Charles VI.

He was the founder of the second and last ducal House of Burgundy. He married Margaret (1350-1404/5), daughter of Ludwig II de Male, count of Flanders, on 19 June 1369.

He was succeeded as duke of Burgundy by their son John the Fearless (1371-1419).
