Procter & Gamble was started in 1837 as a family-owned soap and candle company in Cincinnati, Ohio. The company's current operations are divided into five areas:

12 of P&G's brands have more than a billion dollars in sales: Pampers, Tide, Ariel, Always, Pantene, Charmin, Bounty, Iams, Crest, Folgers, Pringles and Downy.

They got some strange press attention in the 80s when a rumor accused their corporate logo of being a satanic symbol.
