Starting Over is a 1979 film which tells the story of a man who is torn between his new girlfriend and his ex-wife. It stars Burt Reynolds, Jill Clayburgh, Candice Bergen, Charles Durning, Frances Sternhagen, Austin Pendleton and Mary Kay Place.

The movie was adapted by James L. Brooks from the novel by Dan Wakefield. It was directed by Alan J. Pakula.

It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Jill Clayburgh) and Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Candice Bergen).

Starting Over is also an album released by Reba McEntire in 1995, and a reality television series which premiered in 2003.
