The Dukes of Hazzard (original) (raw)
The Dukes of Hazzard is a American television series that originally aired on the CBS television network from 1979 to 1985. The show followed the adventures of two southern good ol' boys Bo and Luke Duke living in an unincorporated area of the fictional Hazzard County Georgia in their souped-up car the General Lee, as they evaded corrupt Boss Hogg and his inept county Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane.
Daisy Duke (portrayed by actress Catherine Bach) has the distinction of having her trademark provocatively high-cut jean short shorts named after her.
Although Hazzard County, Georgia was a fictional location, the real-life town of Hazard, Kentucky was a beneficiary of the show's popularity. Members of the cast were frequent visitors to the town's annual Black Gold Festival.

Good 'Ol Boys
The theme song "The good ol' Boys" was written and performed by the late Waylon Jennings. He was also the narrator of the show.
The lyrics to the Dukes of Hazzard title theme are:
Just a good 'ol boys
Never meaning no harm
Beats all you never saw been trouble with the law since the day they were born
Straightening the curves
Flatting the hills
Someday the mountain might a getem but the law never will
Making their way the only way they know how
That's just a little more then the law allows
Just a good 'ol boys
Wouldn't change if they could
Fighting the system like a two modern day Robin Hood.
