To Linda L re We Can Do Better Than This (original) (raw)
Greetings Linda,
What a heartbreaking story regarding your neighbor who lost his wife (copied below).
I thought perhaps some Doves might like to write to him or send him a card to let him know that the Body and Bride of Christ has not forgotten him, following the example of our Lord who will never forsake us.
If you would be willing, we could either send a snail mail card or letter, if you let us know where to send them and if you could deliver them, or we could send an email, if you have an email address you would like to share, and perhaps print them out for him??
If you aren't able to do this, I ask the Doves to join in holding him up in prayer. Yours is a good reminder that as Christians, it is our duty and privilege to extend comfort to our brothers and sisters in Christ during their times of need. A call, a card, a smile, a hug, a kind word, thoughtfulness, prayer...these deeds of love are the mark of a Christian.
Day
PS: Linda, So glad you found this site and are one of the Doves, these can be lonely times, especially for the remnant. Succor is found here, thank you Doves. And as always, thanks to John.

Oh, my..... I was prompted to call a former neighbor who had lost his wife.... I asked how he was doing.... It was one if the saddest conversations.... He said no one has called him.... I was the only one.... I was shocked because he belonged to a very large church and taught Sunday school for 7 years.... I should have checked on him sooner..... He said he has quit going to church... I feel grieved.
God bless you all here who post.... I would feel so lonesome without this site. You are all a real blessing, and especially John Tng.
