Khen Rinpoche has been the resident teacher of Amitabha Buddhist Centre since 1999. He was also appointed the abbot of Kopan Monastery and Nunnery in Nepal in 2011. Khen Rinpoche is a highly qualified scholar of Buddhist philosophy, having spent 18 years at Sera Je Monastery in India, in its intensive study and debate programme. He graduated with top honours as a Geshe Lharampa from Sera Je, and went on to excel in his studies at Gyudmed Tantric College a year later.
Khen Rinpoche began teaching the Basic Program from August 2003, guiding the first group of students to their graduation in 2010. The Second Basic Program is now in progress.
