Haudh-en-Ndengin in Anfauglith (somewhat conjectural)1
A huge green mound that stood alone in the middle of the burned and dusty land of Anfauglith. It had been raised by Morgoth's Orcs after their master's victory in the great and terrible battle known as the Nirnaeth Arnoediad, and beneath it lay the bodies of the Elves and Edain slain in that battle, along with their gear and weaponry. In Elvish it was known as Haudh-en-Ndengin, 'Hill of Slain' and Haudh-en-Nirnaeth, 'Hill of Tears'.
Among the many slain heroes beneath the mound was Huor, the brother of Húrin and great-grandfather of Elrond. Huor's son Tuor was born after his father had left for war, but soon after his birth he was left by his mother Rían to be fostered by the Grey-elves. Rían followed her husband onto the wastes of Anfauglith, and when she came to the Hill of Slain, she gave up her own life on the lonely mound.

| 1 | We have only textual descriptions of the mound of Haudh-en-Ndengin, so this map is necessarily approximate. We know that it lay in the middle of Anfauglith, and that it was eastward of Hithlum, but this description covers a potentially very large area of the wide desert that lay before the Gate of Angband. |
