Hador Lórindol was granted the land of Dor-lómin as a fief by High King Fingolfin, and it was held by his descendants through two further generations: his direct heir Galdor, and Galdor's eldest son Húrin, who fought in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad and was lost. After Húrin, the heirship would have fallen on his son Túrin, but Dor-lómin had been captured after that great battle, and was given by Morgoth to the Easterlings. After Túrin's death it was discovered that Húrin had not been slain, but had been held captive by Morgoth for many years. Since Túrin had therefore predeceased his father, he never in fact came into his inheritance. For a detailed list of the heirs of the House of Hador, see the entry for Lord of Dor-lómin.
